Stretching nearly a mile out into Tampa Bay the Saint Petersburg Pier hosts an assortment of tourist attractions. Several family appropriate restaurants, the Saint Petersburg Aquarium, gift shops, and lots of places to fish make this a great visit. From the top floor of the Pier you can look across Tampa Bay and see Tampa, Bradenton, and the Sunshine Skyway Bridge. When a Space Shuttle Launch is scheduled the top of the Pier makes an ideal viewing location to watch the Space Shuttle rise into the eastern sky.
The largest city in Pinellas County, Saint Petersburg nestles along Tampa Bay and is filled with delightful surprises. Eight months out of the year the weather in Saint Petersburg is one of those delights, the remaining four months it is more of a surprise with fast blooming storms popping up in the afternoon.
The downtown and waterfront area is host to a good many events and gatherings: Saturday Farmer’s market, Honda Grand Prix, St. Anthony’s Triathlon, and some of the best fireworks shows you will find in the Tampa Bay area.
